I was chatting with Enjoi about increasing player retention, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

Enjoi suggested that we change the tutorial. I agree it would be great to better reflect the excitement, difficulty, and openness of CND. What do you guys think?

Also he suggests that we can rate worlds after we complete them. I also really liked that one.

I also think it would be nice to be able to switch our characters in-game when we receive the new character trophy. That would bring a greater sense of accomplishment... And if we add a couple character trophies to the tutorial world it would give new players something to be excited about right off the bat.

Ideas??

Dont forget the part where I said the hub world/world 2 should be improved. But I really don't have any other ideas at the moment for players to keep their attention to the game.

I have a suggestion for something else, but its not related to the game. Have a thing where in the forums on the post of each individual poster it shows if the person is online. Like for example have a ball, and if it's glowing then the person is online, if not the person is offline. Not a big deal if it's in or not, and not that important, but maybe you could add it.

I just had this anwsome idea! You could make this giant monster in world one that eats trophys and if you throw one in its mouth you will get points. Example: Galaxy Trophy is 91 in rarity. SO you throw it in and get 910 points. Sound good?

Maybe a sign/bulletin board in world 2 that gives side quests? For example, maybe delivering something from an npc in desert world to an npc in jungle world, or maybe looking for an npc in another world.

Another thing could be to let players keep their weapons, even after teleporting.

Points are useless now. Well, they have always been useless because they do nothing, but now they are especially useless.

After hearing you enjoi... I came up with a shop where you can buy character upgrades, new characters, and weapons that you can have anytime to pull out for lets say 30 days before you need to renew it. You buy all this stuff with your points. Sound good?

Yeah and that monster point thing would be okay once points actually do something, like what you suggested

Some characters could be better at certain things, like Luigi could jump really high, but can't stop as fast as Mario.

Sound good also?

I'm not too sure about that, considering that some character(s) will end up being cheap, like giving Kirby the ability to jump 5 times (even jumping twice is pretty cheap), and giving maybe Sonic faster speed could probably make him harder to control. I'm just saying....

Kirby could just be able to glide (If possible) and sonic will have to run for a while to get up to a fast speed.

That fixes two problems.

Eh, they're still kind of level-breaking abilities. I'm only worried because probably all of the worlds in the game could be broken with these abilites, and the only way to balance this is if the worlds went through a whole lot of editing, which is really tedious and complicated....
